Jim Millin, 76, passed away suddenly on 31, December 2013 at his home in Yorkton. He was born on November 26, 1937 in Regina to Frank and Bertha (Milbrandt) Millin. Jim moved from Regina to Yorkton at the age of 8. He graduated from Yorkton Collegiate in 1956. After High School he worked for his father's trucking company Highway Transport. After his father's death Jim managed Highway Transport until the company was sold to Atomic Transfer in 1968. He loved driving trucks and drove them right up to his career with the railway. In 1973 Jim began work for the CNR. First as a truck driver then later as an engine hostler right up to his retirement. Jim enjoyed reading everything. He had thousands of books and magazines. He was a news junky and loved keeping up on the latest news locally and around the world. Jim would love to talk Riders and American politics. He was an intelligent quiet man with a genuine heart that didn't put worth into possessions. Jim was preceded in death by his parents. Jim is survived by; his son Terry (Amy) Millin; his daughter Tami (Lloyd) Vopni, his son Layne (Melissa) Millin; his sister Frances (Bob) Bridge; his grandchildren Jenna, Keegan, Jae, Kovi, Jayden and Noelle, his great-grandchild Avery; and his loving nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives. He will be truly missed by all of us who had the pleasure to know him. A private family cremation committal will take place at a later date.
