Norman Mayer. Norm was born on December 1, 1935, the son of John and Elizabeth Mayer at Crooked Lake, SK. He attended Columbia school. Norm always said he got half his grade twelve, which really meant he had a Grade 6 education. Norm worked for the Department of Highways for 31 years and 16 days. In 1957, Norm married Ivy Elizabeth Wilson. They were blessed with two daughters, Cindy and Sandra. Norm was predeceased by his parents, John and Elizabeth Mayer; his mother and father-in -law, John and Grace Wilson as well as his siblings: Evelyn (George) Exner, Theresa (Johnny) Ottenbreit, Victoria (Alios) Ottenbreit, Fred (Vi) Mayer, Gordon (Dawn) Mayer, Peter Mayer, Gary (Helen) Mayer, Jim Mayer, Art Lowenberg, Carlie Wilson and Joan Wilson. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory his loving wife, Ivy of Yorkton; daughter, Cindy (Gerhard) Pelzer of Balgonie, SK and Sandra (Ed) Kuntz of Grayson, SK; Grandsons, Myron (Heidi) Kuntz of Pigeon Lake, ABÂ and Devin Kuntz of Grayson, SK; great grandchildren, Ava, Walker, Vaida and Ollie; and his special nephew, Greg Mayer who he considered his third grandson; his brother, Joe Mayer and his sisters, Julia Lowenberg and Agnes (Lawrence) Bender; sisters-in-law, Mary Mayer, Ann Mayer, Mabel (Norm) Lockie and brother-in-law, David (Cheryl) Wilson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service was held on Friday, February 19, 2016 the Chapel of Christie's Funeral Home in Yorkton, SK with Father Francis Hengen officiating. The pianist, Chris Fisher, and members of the parish choir led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "Amazing Grace" and "On Eagle's Wings" the Responsorial Psalm was Psalm 23. The Urn Bearer was grandson, Myron Kuntz. The Cremation Committal will take place at a later date.
