Olga Liebrecht

Mrs. Olga Liebrecht (nee Weinmeister), beloved wife of the Late Albert Liebrecht was called home by her Heavenly Father on February 22, 2016 at the age of 99 years. She departed peacefully at the Anderson Village of the Yorkton Nursing Home. Olga was born on May 7, 1916 in the Rhein district, a daughter of Alexander and Dorothy (nee Suppes) Weinmeister. She attended Freeman School which was later named Rhein School. Her dream was to become a nurse, but because of financial difficulty was unable to pursue her endeavour. She began to help at other homes where there was usually a newborn or someone needing special care. Later she went to work for the Reekie farm and there she met her husband Albert Liebrecht who lived across the creek. They were united in marriage on November 23, 1938 and were blessed with three children, Lionel, Audrey and Dennis. They lived on a small farm near Rhein, milking cows by hand seven days a week and selling the cream to have income for food and clothes. She loved her garden and won a number of prizes for her efforts in her garden club. Flowers were her most prized plants. Her favourite pastime was knitting and crocheting. She has been a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Rhein since 1938 serving and helping in various ministries. She continued to live on the farm after Albert's death in 1967 with her son Dennis until 2004. They sold the farm and purchased a home in Rhein. Dennis passed away in 2010 at which time she moved to an assisted living facility in Yorkton. She later was admitted to a nursing home where she remained until her passing. She will be missed by her family, Lionel and Helen Liebrecht, grandchildren Jack and Sherry Liebrecht, Patti and Craig Cartier, Christine Liebrecht; great-grandchildren, Matt and Jenny Ward, Casey and Erin Adshead, Charlie Liebrecht, Lisa, Cheryl and John Cartier; great-great-grandchildren, Mavric, Everett, Haven Ward; sister Laura Osmak and other relatives and friends.
