Margaret Rosaline Liebrecht (Daum) was born on May 6, 1936 to Margaret (Shearer) and John Daum in the RM of Shellriver near Roblin, MB. She was baptized and confirmed at the Clova School in the Zorra district. Margaret came from a family of twelve children. She attended the Verbaska School and left at an early age to look after her many siblings. In 1954, Margaret caught the eye of Edwin Liebrecht and they were married shortly after on January 30, 1955. They began their homestead in Stornoway and welcomed their two eldest children; Ida and Norman. In 1960 they moved to the Calder farm. Here they were blessed with another two children; Lyle and Carla. Their farm was always filled with the fruits of their labour. There were many cows to milk, chickens to butcher and a bountiful garden to harvest. The coffee was always on and the door was always open! Margaret was a hard working woman who took the time to make sure everyone was well fed and even fit in a few practical jokes along the way! 1996 was when Margaret and Edwin became city slickers moving to Yorkton. This never changed their open door policy and they quickly became the apartment everyone stopped in to visit. In 2002, Margaret moved to Queen Elizabeth Court. There she became involved with the social committee and nurtured her love for music by bringing in many bands and musicians. She continued her gardening and had beautiful flowers to show. Margaret also volunteered at the Yorkton Union Hospital where she may have spent more time visiting than volunteering! Margaret was there to help out anyone who needed a good meal, a good laugh or a shoulder to cry on. After a short hospital stay, Margaret passed away on July 22, 2014 at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. Margaret was predeceased by her mother and father, her loving husband Edwin, her brothers Henry and Rudolph, her sisters Eileen, Agnes, Liz, Grace and Una and her daughter-in-law Allyson. Margaret leaves to mourn her children; daughter Ida (Everett) Ironside, son Norman (Lynda), son Lyle (Verlie), daughter Carla (Chris) Jensen; grandchildren Jason (Lana) Ironside, Jennifer (Waylon) Ironside, Jamie (John) Starr, Richard (Lynda) Liebrecht, Andrew (Brittany) Liebrecht, Amy, Ty, Jenifer, Kaylee and Landon; great-grandchildren Jordan, Logan and Jackson Ironside, Haille and Jolen Starr and Aislynn Jabusch-Ironside; brothers John, Robert and Frank; sister Jean as well as many nieces, nephews, family and many, many friends! Funeral Services were held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 from the Chapel of Christie's Funeral Home in Yorkton, SK with Reverend Jen Dresser of St. Andrew's United Church officiating. The organist, Carla Laycock, led the congregation in the singing of "Amazing Grace". A special taped music selection, "Country Road" was played as a processional and "Ave Maria" was played as the Recessional. The Interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Jason Ironside, Richard Liebrecht, Andrew Liebrecht, Curtis Liebrecht, Rodney Liebrecht and Randy Liebrecht serving as the casket bearers. Friends so wishing may forward their condolences to the family by visiting www.christiesfuneralhome.com. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Christie's Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
