Herbert Liebrecht, beloved husband of Mary Liebrecht of Yorkton, SK passed away on January 10, 2014. He was 89 years of age. Herbert was born to Christian and Lydia (nee: Propp) Liebrecht on April 16, 1924 at Rhein, SK. He received his education at Rhein, Runnymede and Stornoway Schools. In 1951 Herbert married Mary Zrudlo of Stornoway and the couple moved to Edmonton, AB in 1956. Herbert worked as a mechanic there for 10 years and returned to Saskatchewan in 1966 to take over the family farm until his retirement in 1989. It was then Herbert and Mary moved to Yorkton. Herbert was predeceased by his parents, Christian and Lydia Liebrecht; his son, Leslie; a sister, Erma and her husband, Allen; brothers-in-law, Steve Kostiw and Walter Zrudlo. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory, his wife Mary of Yorkton, SK; his daughter, Debra (Ron) Falk of Beaumont, AB and their children, Sarah, Jenn (Mike) and Michael and great grandchild, Jackson; his son. Rick (Doris) Liebrecht and their children, Nathan and Thomas all of Edmonton, AB; a sister, Vera Kostiw of Winnipeg, MB and her children, Heather, Perry and their families; his late sister, Erma's children, Wendy, Tracy and Dean and their families as well as a host of dear friends. Funeral Services were held on Friday, January 17, 2014 from the Chapel of Christie's Funeral Home in Yorkton, SK. with Pastor Fred Schneider officiating. The organist, Carla Laycock, led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "Amazing Grace", "How Great Thou Art" and "He Leadeth Me". Herbert's son, Rick shared words of tribute and eulogy. The Cremation Committal followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Herbert's daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Ron Falk serving as the urn bearers.
