Victor Paul Kyba

Victor Paul Kyba. Victor was born to Paul and Eudochia (Puteria) Kyba on March 7, 1918, in the Mazeppa district. On May 18, 1947, he married Emily Ostafie and together they raised their family and resided on the homestead in Mazeppa until July 2014. Victor loved to farm with his brother, John and then with his son, Orest. He inherited his father's blacksmith skills and often made his own parts and could fix nearly anything. In the summers, he loved baseball and would often go to Donwell twice per week to watch. Later in life, he treasured the opportunity to watch his son and grandsons play as well. He loved to socialize with friends and neighbours on the weekends and many heated games of Canasta took place. Everyone was always welcome into the Kyba home for coffee and a visit. Victor was a faithful member of the Descent Of The Holy Spirit Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Mazeppa. He cared for and maintained the hall and if anything went wrong or needed fixing, Victor was usually called upon to do it. Victor's greatest joy in life was always his family. This value is something he has instilled in every one of his three children, nine grandchildren and three step-Grandchildren. Faithfully, 'Dido' was there, proudly supporting their sporting events or dance recitals and attended each of their graduations. Nothing brought a smile to Victor's face like a visit from his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Each visit would end with a hug and a "thank you for coming to visit" and never forgetting him. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Victor was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Eudochia; his brothers and sisters: Annie, Katie (August) Yaholnitsky, Peter (Mary), Jean (John) Stratychuk, Edna (Metro) Ochitwa, Bill (Violet), John (Rosie) and Martin (Betty); and his daughter-in-law Valerie. He leaves to mourn his passing and celebrate his memory his beloved wife, Emily; Daughters: Iris (Glen) Kozak, Carole Sarafincian; Son, Orest (Koreen) Kyba; Grandchildren: Mark Kozak, Robert (Dianna) Kozak, Evan (Lisa) Kozak, Donnalee (Craig) Hassett, Michael (Kristina) Sarafincian, Curtis Sarafincian, Karen Sarafincian, Corey Kyba, and Luke Kyba; Step-grandchildren: Michael, Justin and Raeanne Schneider; and his great grandchildren: Ella, Sydney, Seth, Judah, Lily, Molly and Ellie; as well as numerous relatives and friends who meant so much to him.
