Albert Kormos - May 27, 1924 - Albert Kormos of Saltcoats/Yorkton/Esterhazy, SK, passed away on May 24, 2014 at the age of 89, at the Centennial Special Care Home in Esterhazy - three days before his 90th birthday. Albert was born in Otthon, SK. Albert joined the Royal Canadian Airforce August 12, 1943 and served for 32 months. On leaving the service he farmed in the Perley area, Saltcoats township, for approximately 30 years during which he raised six children. When he retired from farming he worked as a commissionaire in various capacities for more than 14 years and received a "Commissionaire Meritorious and Long Service Medal." Albert is survived by his second wife Alexandra, his children Albert Jr (Dawn), Rodney (Debbie), Donald (Donna), Karen (Brian), Susan (Dale), Laura (Ian), 17 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren, sisters Bertha (Bunny) and Barbara. Albert was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Mary, Judy and Helen, his brothers Alex, Frank and George. The Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church in Yorkton Rev. Father Francis Hengen as the Celebrant. The pianist, Pamela Yaremko led members of St. Gerard's Choir in the singing of the hymns, "Be Not Afraid", "Psalm 116", "On Eagle's Wings", "I am the Bread of Life", "Song of The Angels" and "Though the Mountains May Fall". Serving as the cross bearer was Susan Laing. The readers were Susan and Dale Laing. The gift bearers were Laura Kormos and Rod Kormos. The interment took place in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Laura Kormos, Ian Bailey, Brian Regner, Dale Laing, Donald Kormos and Cameron Laing serving as the casket bearers.
