Mrs. Mary Karakochuk (Byneshewsky), beloved wife of Joe, passed away at Wynyard Golden Acres Nursing Home on August 31, 2013 at the age of 87 years. She leaves to mourn her children, Donald (Maureen), David (Mary Lou), Joanne (Don), Jerome (Laurinda), grandchildren Shelley, Crystal, & Kyla, Kirsten, Sarah & Joey, Dana, Jevon, & Cait, Chad & Jenna and numerous great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Olga (Johnny) Malenki, Verna (Marcel) Wozny, sisters-in-law Trudy and Lena Byneshewsky, Josie Gilewicz, Mary Syrota, Grace (Claude) Lefebvre, brother-in-law Steve Karakochuk. Mary was predeceased by husband Joe, son Blaine, son-in-law Ilie Secman, her parents, Joe & Ann, her husband's parents, Mike & Mary, brothers, John, Mike & Steve, her brothers-in-law Andy Karakochuk & wife Ann, Andy Gilewicz, sisters-in-law Stella Karakochuk, Sophie Burynuik and her husband Tony. Mary grew up in Stenen and married Joe in 1948. They made their home in Bankend and later moved to Yorkton. The last year she spent in Wynyard. Mary enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren in Yorkton when they were younger and taking them out to Good Spirit Lake. She loved when her family would come to visit. Mary always had a beautiful garden and enjoyed preserving all the produce. No meal was complete without her dill pickles. We will miss you Mom. Prayers were held on Sunday, September 8, 2013 and the Requiem Divine Liturgy on Monday, September 9, 2013 at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton with Very Rev. Fr. Peter Pidskalny, C.Ss.R. as the Celebrant. The responses were led by Ed Pindus, Colette Karapita and parish choir members. Marcel Wozny served as the cross bearer & epistle reader. The interment took place in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Dana Karakochuk, Sarah Secman, Chad Karakochuk, Cait Karakochuk, Joey Secman and Jenna Karakochuk serving as the casket bearers.
