Mr. William Kalynuk of Yorkton, SK passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. He was 82 years of age. William, "Bill" as he was known to friends and family, was born on April 27, 1930 in Regina, SK, the son of John and Rose (nee Ostapowich) Kalynuk. He grew up in Regina and attended the Innismore, Whitmore and Haultain Schools in the city. A welder by trade, Bill belonged to the Boiler Makers and Pipe Fitters Unions and worked at oil refinery expansion projects in Canada and the United States from 1950 to 1960. He taught welding to adults at the Yorkton Regional High School from 1972-1977. Bill also owned a managed a number of business in Yorkton, the last of which was Yorkton Auto Spring Services. Bill leaves to mourn his passing, his daughter, Carol Karlyne Jones of Kelowna, BC; Carol's mother, Helen; his four grandchildren, Calista, Afton, Nathan and Niya as well as his brother, Mike; his sister, Rose (Gary) Wells as well as many other relatives and friends. Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Monday, November 26, 2012 from St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton, SK with Father Peter Pidskalny, C.Ss.R. serving as the Celebrant. The responses were led by Mr. Ed Pindus and members of the Yorkton Ukrainian Catholic Choir. The pallbearers were Tim Meszaros, Dale Holstein, Jordan Keller, Claude Slogocki, Don Yaremko and Lenny Salyn. The Cremation Committal took place on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 in the Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery in Regina, SK.
