Sunny L. Kae (Krepakevich). With great sadness we announce that Sunny L. Kae passed away peacefully on March 17, 2014 at the age of 73, following a courageous battle with diabetes and cancer. Sunny will be forever remembered for his friendly nature, infectious smile, cheerful laugh, his passion for travelling and professional endeavors, but mostly for his love of family and friends. He will be missed. Sunny was born on October 31, 1940 to Fred and Martha (Zederayko) Krepakevich at the family farm near Yorkton, SK. Sunny attended Stawchan School near Hamton, SK and after graduation from the Yorkton Collegiate Institute he pursued a computer science degree at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. Sunny started his career as a computer analyst with Federated Co-op. In 1963 he married Doreen Heintz, daughter of Harry and Evelyn Heintz of Luseland, SK. They lived in Saskatoon until 1973 when they moved to Richmond, BC where Sunny started a long and rewarding career with ICBC. Sunny and Doreen travelled extensively and visited many incredible places and when they weren't exploring the world they were visiting their many dear friends. In 2007 they retired to Summerland, BC to enjoy wine country and the company of friends, both old and new. Sunny was predeceased by Doreen in May 2013, by his parents, brothers Carl (1953) and Daniel (2012), sister-in-law Ardella Davison (2013), brother-in-law Walter Davison (2013), brother-in-law Leon Heintz (2011), sister-in-law Ida Heintz (2003), sisters-in-law Stella Krepakevich (1980) and Marie Krepakevich (2007). The family wish to thank the dedicated and caring staff of the Dr. Andrew Pavillion in Summerland, the Penticton Regional Hospital and the Nurse Next Door team. A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Sunny's memory to the BC Cancer Foundation.
