After graduation, Dr. Just owned Mohawk Veterinary Clinic at Melfort, SK, a mixed large and small animal practice, for 12 years. Dr. Just was highly respected in the community and well known as a skilled surgeon. He worked out of Yorkton for Agriculture Canada at the poultry processing plant in Wynyard, SK during the weekdays and at his Yorkton clinic on weekends.  In 1978 Dr. Just accepted a position with Agriculture Canada working out of Regina, SK. He sold his clinic in Yorkton and the family moved to Regina. While in Melfort, Ken was instrumental in forming a 4-H light horse club. He was also a Rotarian for a short period of time. Ken was an avid bird carver and he won many awards in competitions. Many of his birds can be found in homes of friends and relatives around the world. Ken and Eldi were very involved in square dancing in Melfort, Yorkton and Regina and they made many long-lasting friends through this social activity. After retirement Ken and Eldi spent a good part of the winter months in Mesa, AZ where they had a trailer and then a park model at Valle del Oro Park. Ken was able to indulge in his bird carving hobby and entered into several shows in Scottsdale and Mesa and won a number of ribbons.
