Graig Allan Jones passed away unexpectedly in Yorkton, SK on Sunday, June 26, 2016, at the age of 50 years. Graig was born on October 14, 1965 in Yorkton, the son of Margaret and Don Jones. He went to school in Yorkton, completing his education at the Yorkton Regional High School in 1985. Jonesy, as he was known to family and friends, had a variety of jobs through his lifetime, including 19 years as a meat cutter at Harvest Meats in Yorkton, a position held until his death. He also had a passion for buying and selling antiques. He loved a good auction sale and was well known in East Central Saskatchewan as a junk/antique dealer. Graig was a unique soul with a colourful sense of humour. He was larger than life. Graig as an animated story teller and when the story/joke warranted it, he would act it out to get the point across - sound effects were optional! Jonesy enjoyed playing practical jokes on his friends, his sister, Lisa and other family members. Uncle Steve and Uncle Tom were recent victims on different occasions. Graig took Uncle Steve for a ride in his new Ford truck which was equipped with Bluetooth technology. Uncle Steve panicked when the sync system read a text (which Graig had sent to himself) which said, "This truck will self-destruct in 5 minutes. Please pull over and run for your life!". Such antics resulted in numerous nicknames! Graig was a selfless individual who went out of his way to help people. Those close to him would hear about his good deeds from others. Jonesy had friends from all walks of life and every age bracket. He touched many lives in his 50 years, never having asked for anything in return. We will miss his generous spirit and kind soul. Graig became an accomplished handyman with the guidance of Jimmy Young, Bob Miller and his minion helper, Joel Thompson. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, who inherited the love of the outdoors from his father, Don. Together they spent many hours casting their lines at the Duck Mountains of Manitoba and antler rattling for white tail deer outside Yorkton. May their trips together now be blessed with no limits, no restrictions and no problems. Rest in Peace, Graig. Graig was predeceased by his father, Don Jones. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Jones of Yorkton; his sister, Lisa (Kris) Janeson of Yorkton as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The Memorial Service was held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from the Chapel of Christie's Funeral Home in Yorkton, SK with Kathy Novak serving as the Funeral Celebrant. Special taped music selections included "Seasons in the Sun" by Terry Jacks as the processional music, "Why?" by Rascal Flatts and "When I Get Where I'm Going" by Brad Paisley as the recessional. A poem written by Janice Nelson in Graig's memory was read and words of tribute and eulogy were shared by friend, Stacey Young.
