Barbara Helen Janett (nee Larson) was born on February 15, 1936 in Hudson Bay Junction to Lars and Bessie Larson. As a teenager, she spent many hours at the curling and skating rink. Barb attended Sunday school, taught CGIT and sang in the United Church Choir. In 1953, at the age of 17, Barb moved to Saltcoats to work as a telephone operator. Here she met the love of her life, Peter Janett, they were married on July 6, 1957 and moved to Bredenbury a year later where they spent 56 happy years together. During this time Peter and Barb raised two children and made many lifelong friends. Besides raising a family, Barb spent many enjoyable hours curling, golfing, camping and travelling with Peter. Barb leaves behind her loving husband, Peter; daughter, Lori (Ralph) Kindrachuk; son, Perry (Elaine); seven grandchildren, Jordan (Anne Marie), Michael (Victoria), Ashley (Andrew), Dani (Tim), Lee (Brenna), Cole (Allison), and seven great-grandchildren, Jonah, Noa, Parker, Charlie, Nicolas, Louie and Farrah. She is also survived by her brother, Roy "Speedy" (Irene) Larson. Barb is predeceased by her sister, Viola (Eugene) Gregorash, Leslie Larson, Alvin (Muriel) Larson, Jim (Rita) Larson, Bob Larson, Ron (Diane) Larson, Bill (Kathy) Larson. A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, October 10, 2013 from Knox United Church in Bredenbury, SK with Reverend Walter Farquharson officiating. The organist, Lorne Neal and members of the Knox United Church Choir and Friends led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "Come In, Come In and Sit Down" and "How Great Thou Art". Barb's children, Perry Janett and Lori Kindrachuk shared words of tribute and eulogy, concluding with a taped music selection of Louis Armstrong singing, "It's a Wonderful World". The Cremation Committal followed in the Bredenbury Town Cemetery with Barb's grandson, Lee Janett serving as the urn bearer.
