Benjamin "Benny" Holstein

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Benjamin "Benny" Holstein on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the Yorkton & District Nursing Home, Yorkton, SK. He was 85 years of age. Ben was born on March 31, 1930, the son of Peter and Mary (nee Rutz) Holstein. He and his siblings were all born and raised in the Rhein District of Saskatchewan. Ben married Lorraine (nee Starger) and they lived and raised their family in the Saltcoats District of Saskatchewan. While farming at this time, Ben became a Councillor for Saltcoats area, Division 6 for 14 years. He was an avid outdoorsman with many employment adventures.  Ben started his business Parkland Mowing. He and his staff maintained the grass cutting for several Rural Municipalities and also maintained grass cutting for the City of Yorkton. In the winter months, Ben was busy with the trapping season for beavers and muskrats. And of course, Hockey season! He was a huge supporter of the Yorkton Terriers and was a season ticket holder for many years. Ben was a loving and beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Dear Lord up above,

Give our Grandpa our love,

Hug him, and keep him wrapped in your arms.
