Charles Steuart Hodgson passed away peacefully at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, Yorkton, SK on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 with his sister by his side. He was 83 years of age. Charles was born on January 10, 1930, the son of Eliza (nee Steuart) and William Henry Hodgson. He was raised on the family farm, attended Simpson School in the city of Yorkton and completed his education at the Yorkton Collegiate. After his graduation in June of 1948, he started farming with his father on a farm 2 ½ miles south-west of Yorkton. He farmed for 25 years until June of 1973 when he moved off the farm to the city of Yorkton. Charles also worked at the Corona Motor Inn (Travelodge) from 1964 to 1990. He retired in November of 1990. On January 1, 2009 Charles moved into the Bentley Retirement Community where he resided until his passing. In his younger years, Charles enjoyed watching hockey games and followed the Yorkton Terriers. He also enjoyed going to the pool hall when he was a young man and became quite an excellent pool player. Charles still played pool regularly at the Bentley. He also enjoyed playing cards, doing sudoku puzzles and never turned down a chance to go for a drive in the country. Charles was predeceased by his parents, William and Eliza (both in 1996) and his nephew, Gordon in 2013. He leaves to mourn his passing and celebrate his life, his sister, Irene Morozoff of Yorkton, SK; nephews, Ron (Inga) Morozoff of Calgary, AB and Lorne (Shannon) Morozoff and their children, Matthew and Nathan of Calgary, AB as well as other relatives, friends and coffee buddies. A Graveside Memorial Service was held on Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Yorkton City Cemetery, Yorkton, SK with Reverend Walter Farquharson officiating. The urn bearer was Charles' nephew, Ron Morozoff. The luncheon followed in the George Gunn Memorial Reception Room at Christie's Funeral Home.
