Ingibjorg Elaine Annie Hinrikson, Elaine as she was known to family and friends, was born in Esterhazy, SK on February 15, 1942, the daughter of Albert and Ethel (nee Barnard) Hinrikson. She passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the Yorkton & District Nursing Home in Yorkton, SK. She was 72 years of age. Elaine was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Ethel Hinrikson. She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory, her brothers, Clifton and his wife, Betty of Edmonton, AB, Vernon and his wife, Shannon of North Vancouver, BC and Norman of Yorkton, SK; two nieces, Lisa and her husband, Jesse Shamata of Toronto, ON and Jamie of North Vancouver, BC; two great-nephews, Holden and Leo Shamata of Toronto, ON; her aunts, uncles, other relatives and many good friends and caregivers. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 from Concordia Lutheran Church in Churchbridge, SK with Pastor Daphne Bender officiating. The organist, Lorna Nechvatal led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "What A Friend We Have in Jesus", "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art". The interment service was held in the Concordia Lutheran Church Cemetery with Vernon Hinrikson, Clifton Hinrikson and Donald Pomieto serving as casket bearers.
