Lillian Victoria Herman (nee Engel) was born April 14, 1924 to Michael & Margarete Engel at Rhein, SK. She was the fifth child of eleven children. She was baptized and confirmed at Christ Luthern Church in Rhein. She attended Rhein School until eighth grade and then stayed home to help with the chores of a growing family. In November of 1944, she married Frederick Herman at Christ Luthern Church, Rhein and began her new life as a farmer's wife. She was blessed with three sons, Clifford, Barry and Randall. She was a devoted wife, and mother and was also devoted to her church in Rhein. Lillian passed away at 5:30am, June 3, 2013, at the Yorkton District Nursing Home with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Fred in 1994, brothers Adam, Alphonse, Edward and Gordon; sisters Agnes and Irene; brothers-in-law Victor Herman and Alexander Schwab, sister-in-law Stella Engel and Anne Engel. She is survived by her sons and their families: Clifford and Trudy of Roblin, MB, Barry and Adeline of Rhein, Randy of Rhein and Roger of Rhein, (mother of Kelly and Carrie); seven grandchildren, Susan Geres (Roger), Kelly Herman (Tina), Carrie Banerd (Gary), Sandra Herman, Michelle Hubic (Kelly), Clifton Herman (Shona), Calvin Herman (Jacqueline); eleven great grandchildren; Hannah, Joshua, Raya, Bailey, Colton, Haydn, Emery, Kingsley, Kylee, Tenley and Charlie. She is also survived by her brother Roland Engel (Doris) and brother George (Betty) both of Winnipeg, MB. Her sister's Emma of Yorkton,SK and Violet Lakey (Larry) of Winnipeg, MB.; sisters-in-law; Vera Engel of Camrose, AB. and Joyce Engel of Victoria, B.C. Clifford, Barry, Randy Herman and their families, of the Late Lillian Herman, would sincerely like to thank everyone fo rthe kind words of sympathy and thoughtfulness given to all of us, at the time of our Mom, Gramma, and GG's passing. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude and thanks to all the staff at Melody Manor at the Yorkton Nursing home, where Mom lived for the past 15 months. Your continued care and attention was second to none. Also, thanks to all who visited Mom while she lived there, she loved the company. Thank you to Pastor Fred Schneider and Arlene Stiglitz (organist) for the lovely service and to the Rhein Christ Luthern Church Women for the beautiful lunch. Thanks to the Pallbearers (Lilly's Grandsons) for carrying her all the way back to the graveyard, Gramma woul d have approved.
