Mrs. Elizabeth Harrick formerly of Fenwood, widow of the late Walter Harrick, entered eternal rest on December 30, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Home at the age of 80 years. Elizabeth was born in Oakburn, MB on July 7, 1932, the youngest of eight children of Mike and Mary Kosa. Elizabeth married Walter Harrick May 20, 1961. They were blessed with one son, Walley Joe, born July 7, 1966. Elizabeth was a generous, loving, reserved and hardworking woman. She loved to be with family and friends, whether they were out for a Sunday drive, camping, dancing, or just entertaining at home with a good game of cards. She took pride in her garden, flowers, and her well-kept home. Most of all, her love and devotion was dedicated to her son Walley Joe and her two grandchildren Dustin and Macayla. She will be missed dearly. Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents, Mike and Mary (nee Rozdeba); her husband Walter; three sisters, Jessie, Marion, and Anne; and three brothers, Joe, John, and Steve. She leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her life: one son, Walley Joe and his wife, Sheila, and two grandchildren Dustin and Macayla; a sister Kay Hanlie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and neighbours. The prayer service was held Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Matthews Funeral Home, Melville with Fr. Peter Pidskalny, CSsR presiding. Requiem Divine Liturgy was said Friday, January 4, 2013 at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Yorkton with Fr. Peter celebrating. Interment followed in Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Edward Kostyshyn, Matt Harasymuk, Mitchell Kolanko, Curtis Harrick, Jason Molnar and Paul Molnar acting as pallbearers. At the reception the eulogy was given by Sheila Harrick and Macayla Harrick paid tribute to her grandma with a poem. Arrangements were entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Melville.
