Donna Margaret Fustey (nee Liebrecht) of Calder, SK lost her courageous battle with cancer on January 23, 2017 at Pasqua Hospital in Regina, SK. She was 73 years of age. Donna was born on July 31, 1943, the eldest child of four born to Adam and Martha (nee Baliss) Liebrecht in Yorkton, SK. She grew up and went to school in Calder, SK. As a young lady she worked in Regina at Sears and at the Yorkton Co-Op Grocery Store where she met her husband, Jim Fustey. They were married on September 4, 1965 and made their home on the farm south of Calder. Donna loved helping on the farm, gardening, quilting, cooking and visiting with friends and neighbours. Donna was predeceased by her parents, Adam and Martha Liebrecht; her sister, Arlene (in infancy); her brother, Gordon in 2001. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Jim; her brothers, Barry (June) Liebrecht of Leduc, AB, Glenn (Barb) Liebrecht of Yorkton, SK; sisters-in-law, Paulette Liebrecht of Winnipeg, MB, Lorraine Adam and Gail Mack, both of Yorkton, SK and brother-in-law, Norman (Jean) Rapchalk of Calder, SK as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Service to Celebrate Donna's life was held on Monday, January 30, 2017 from the Chapel of Christie's Funeral Home with Shelly Morris officiating. Words of tribute and eulogy were read by nephew, Jason Rapchalk. A violin solo was played by Scott Cornelius. The organist, Shani Apland, led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "In the Bulb There is a Flower" and "In the Garden". The honourary pall bearers are all who knew and loved Donna. The Interment Service followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Randy Liebrecht, Rodney Liebrecht, Brad Liebrecht, Brent Liebrecht, Jason Rapchalk and Scott Cornelius serving as casket bearers. Donations to the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency for use at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre in memory of Donna would be greatly appreciated by her family.
