Helen P. (nee Macknak) Flavel. We regret to announce the passing of Helen on October 2, 2015, at the age of 76 years old. Helen was born on March 31, 1939 near Dysart, SK. Helen started her career working as a bank teller in Regina. She met her husband and took time off to raise their family and later worked for the Federal Government. She was involved with the mentally handicapped, the St. Gerard's CWL and the Yorkton & District Horticultural Society holding various positions in each. Her greatest joy was her family and tending to her plants. Helen was predeceased by her parents Mary and Frank Macknak. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Alan and their four sons; James of Yorkton, Robert (Adele) of Regina and their children Nolan and Curtis, Michael (Heather) of Regina and their children Christopher and Terri, Marlin (Vanessa) of Weyburn and daughter Sela; brothers, Felix (Betty), Johnny (Debbie); sisters, Veronica, Francis (Haven) and Vicky; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Prayers were held on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Yorkton City Cemetery.
