Helmet Fiegal

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Helmet Fiegal beloved partner, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. Helmet was born in the Springside area on December 13, 1927. He eventually settled in Theodore in 1983 where he resided until he entered Gateway Lodge in Canora last October. Helmet was predeceased by wife Marguerite in 1980. Left to mourn are his partner, Elsie; daughters, Lois and Sharlene; sons-in-law, Arnold and Clint; grandchildren, Curtis, Meghan, Mikayla and Paige; Great-Grandson, Holdyn and sisters, Helen, Rita, Adeline and Violet. Helmet's special angels Judy and Joan were always there to lend a helping hand. He cherished the time he spent talking and joking with Paul and visits from Cindy, Haley and Carson made him smile. He was a skilled carpenter, leaving his mark in many people's lives. Helmet was a quiet man who kept to himself. Fiercely loyal and supportive he was always willing to help others. He took pleasure in sitting outside with Elsie enjoying the sunshine, taking great pride in his yard and garden. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him. A Memorial Service was held on Friday, March 18, 2016 from the Chapel of Christie's Funeral Home in Yorkton, SK with Shelly Morris officiating. Special taped music selections included "Amazing Grace" as sung by Alan Jackson and "Abide With Me" as sung by Daniel O'Donnell. The Cremation Committal followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with son-in-law, Clint Fink serving as the urn bearer. Friends so wishing may forward their condolences to the family by visiting www.christiesfuneralhome.com. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Christie's Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yorkton, SK.
