Mr. Kim Ernest of Yorkton passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, March 3, 2013. He was 48 years of age. Kim Warren Ernest was born on March 30, 1964 in Snow Lake, MB; a son of Jerry and Mary (nee Gingera) Ernest. As a young boy he moved with his parents and brother to Thompson, MB. He received his education at the Westwood and RD Parker Schools. Following that time Kim attended the Red River College in Winnipeg, where he graduated with his Automotive Technician Journeyman's Certificate. He then returned to Thompson where he worked at the family run Esso Service Station. In 1993 he was united in marriage to Pamela Hogarth. After selling the garage, Kim then began employment at Nickel City Motors and Thompson Ford Sales, where he worked in the service department for a number of years, during these years acquired his Senior and Master Journeyman Certificates from the Ford Motor Company. In 2008 the family moved to Yorkton. At the time of his sudden passing, Kim was employed at Royal Auto Group. Kim loved to golf and fish and his favorite pastime was watching Nascar and Indy Racing with his son. He loved to express his culinary skills. Kim possessed a great curiosity of the world around him, his favorite TV show was Jeopardy and anything to do with space or science. He was forever researching things on the internet that held his interest, and made sure to include his children. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Pamela, son Logan and daughter MacKenzie; his parents, Jerry and Mary of Thompson, MB; brother Dwayne (Diane) of Thompson and their family Bailey (Patrick) & Mya & Alexis, and Brandi; Kim's extended family: Glenn (Wanda) Hogarth of Benito, MB; Roger Hogarth (Cindy Williams) of Peterborough, ON; Valerie (Gord) McDonald of Rosetown, SK; Christine (Kenny) Randell & family Brandan, Averey, Sammy & Brooke of Thompson; Jenifer Ferron & family Christopher & Tysan of Swan River; Fred (Michelle) Highfield and Jolie of Warman, SK; numerous other relatives and friends. An informal visitation was held on Thursday evening, March 7, 2013 at Bailey's Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, March 8, 2013 from St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church in Thompson, MB with Father Guna as Celebrant. The eulogy was given by Glenn O'Connell, and Michael Dudar was the urnbearer. A reception followed in the Parish Hall. The cremation committal will follow at a later date. Memorials were to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, this foundation was special to the Ernest family as it was instrumental in giving us Kim for as long as we had him.
