Adella Dozorec

Mrs. Adella (Odarka) Dozorec wife of the late John Dozorec of Yorkton, formerly of the Kamsack area, went home unexpectedly to be with her Savior and Lord on Wednesday, December 10, 2014. Adella was born on February 8, 1932 to Nick and Minnie Gorchynski of the Mazeppa area. In 1952 she married John Dozorec. Adella and John farmed until 1986 and then retired to Yorkton. During their 57 years together (and following John’s passing in 2009) they were blessed with five children, fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Betty (Matt) Coleman; Patricia Zip (Hannah, Theodore, Stacey, and Howard); Leonard (Ronda), Londa (Calvin) and daughter Brooklyn, Rachel and daughter Reina, Sarah, Jordan, Jayden, Jeriah and Levi; Janice (Glen) Fleharty, Tanya and Cynthia Dozorec (Owen, Emily). Adella is also survived by her brother Edward Gorchynski and sister Elizabeth Adams. Adella lived a virtuous life faithfully committed to her family and friends. She loved gardening, cooking, writing and reading, making a house a home and was the greatest hostess. Fond memories will live on forever as a result of her love, kindness and generosity. She was excellent at all she put her hand to. Adella’s life changed when she committed her life to Christ in 1977 and she passionately shared the Word of God and her faith with all who she felt led to share with. As a result of her faith, she became a spiritual leader amongst many and would always be there to pray with you or encourage you. She was invited to share her testimony at many Christian gatherings. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. We rejoice that she has been welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven and now resides with her Lord and all who predeceased her. Funeral Services were held on Monday, December 15, 2014 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Archbishop Met. Yaroslaw Sereda of the Pro-Cathedral Christ the Lord of Mercy Church officiating. Hannah Zip served as the cross bearer. Interment followed in the family plot in the Garden of St. Mark in the Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Jayden Dozorec, Jordan Dozorec, Theodore Zip, Howard Zip, Calvin Oshowy and Jeriah Dozorec serving as the casket bearers. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.baileysfuneralhome.com. Memorials in memory of Adella may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan as gifts of remembrance. Arrangements were entrusted to Bailey’s Funeral Home Yorkton.
