Anthony Ernest Dobko, 78, of Moosomin, SK passed away peacefully on March 11, 2014. Tony was born on January 20, 1936 to Steve and Mary Dobko, at the family farm in Jedburgh. He attended school in Jedburgh and later Teacher's College in Moose Jaw. Tony taught at many schools but spent most of his career in Moosomin. He retired in 1989 after 34 years of teaching. On November 10, 1960, Tony married Carolyn Stewart. They began their life together in Chamberlain, moved to Lang, Regina, and eventually settled in Moosomin. Here they raised their three children, and have resided for the last 45 years. Tony was predeceased by his parents, Steve and Mary, his father-in-law, George Stewart, mother-in-law, Marion Brown, stepfather-in-law, Charles Brown, and brother-in-law, Martin McDonell. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Carol, his three children, Brad (Lorri) Dobko, Brenda (Mike) Steciuk, and Sandy (Ren) Theriault, four grandchildren, Denae Dobko, Haley Steciuk, Aleena and Anthony Theriault, sister Isabelle (Mike) Lys, sisters-in-law Donalda McDonell, Bev (Stan) Aberhart, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Tony was a friend to all, and liked by all who knew him. May he rest in peace. Funeral Mass was held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Moosomin, on Saturday, March 15, at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the Moosomin North Cemetery. Prayers were held at the church on Friday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to M.O.T.O.H. (Dial-a-van).
