Natalie Iris Derow was born on the family farm in the Whitesand District on May 6, 1941 to Dan and Caroline (nee Fedun) Kutcher. Natalie attended the Beblo School in the Whitesand District. Natalie had a deep faith in God, she was very spiritual and Natalie and Peter prayed together every morning and night with their hands entwined together in prayer. They prayed the Rosary together every week. Natalie worked at the Blackstone Hotel and one day just when she was getting off of work and was walking home, she met Peter Derow who was employed at Weber's. The two had known each other for many years. They struck up a conversation, began dating and eventually became husband and wife. Peter and Natalie were united in Holy Matrimony on February 16, 1968 and were inseparable until Peter's passing in 2010. Peter was laid-off from Weber's in October of 1968 and Peter and Natalie then moved to Winnipeg in December that same year where they resided for 31 years. Natalie enjoyed going to play bingo and loved spending time with her beloved Peter, their family and friends. Peter and Natalie decided to move back to Saskatchewan in 1999 where they bought an acreage in the Sturgis District and lived there for 6½ years. When Peter's sickness progressed, they moved to Yorkton to be nearer to medical facilities. Natalie will be loved and sadly missed by all who knew her. Natalie is predeceased by her parents, Dan and Caroline; one brother, Nick; and two sisters, Virginia and Olga. She leaves behind to celebrate her life, four brothers, Paul (Rita), Peter (Sylvia), Johnny (Barbara), and Stephen (Esther); her three sisters, Adeline (Peter), Sylvia (Dave), and Phyllis (Alex); and many in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends. Prayers services were held on Friday September 6, 2013 from St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church with Reverend Father Methodius Kushko C.Ss.R. officiating. Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Saturday September 7, 2013 from St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Yorkton with Reverend Father Methodius Kushko C.Ss.R. serving as the Celebrant with the Cantor, Mr. Edward Pindus assisted by the parish choir singing the responses.
