Sybil also learned to play the piano and organ during this time. Sybil married the love of her life, Harry de Vries, on April 6,1956 and the couple moved to the Saltcoats Caslteton district to begin farming and start a family. In 1969 the family moved two miles south to the Bill Morgan farm where they started a dairy. In 1969, Sybil also started working at the Saltcoats Co-op which led to a 23 year career, 16 of those years as manager. She was always aware of the customer's needs and provided friendly service. In 1984, Harry and Sybil sold the farm and moved to the Rokeby acreage with room for flowers, raspberries, rhubarb, a big garden, and trees. In 1995 they moved to Yorkton leaving many friends in Saltcoats and Rokeby. Sybil always enjoyed music. This included playing the organ at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Yorkton and the United Church in Saltcoats for a few years. Sybil was a member of several organizations, but her love for the Saltcoats Agriculture Society led to Sybil being the first female president. She and Harry became Honorary Life Members in 1996. They both loved to travel and visit family. Sybil organized family reunions, gatherings and took part in community events wherever her talent could be offered. She really enjoyed flowers (especially gladiolus), gardens, and always gave extras to those in need and bouquets to be enjoyed by all. Harry passed away April 30, 2008. Sybil was able to stay in the trailer until May, 2011 when it was time to move into Assisted Care for a couple of years at the Gladstone Seniors' Residence followed by close to a year in the Kamsack and Yorkton nursing homes. Sybil was very appreciative of all the help she received from her family as evidenced in this quote, "The constant love and support of my husband, Harry and my children over my many years of health problems were always a blessing to me."
