On February 25, 2015, Daniel Chornanky of Cornach, Sk, passed away at age 75. Dan was born March 8, 1939 near Hyas, in the RM of Clayton, SK and received his education at the Danbury country school. His first job was picking rocks and stones for .40 per hour, and also worked for his Dad who purchased seed wheat for .69 a bushel. As a young man he worked in logging and lumber and also farmed. Dan worked in various areas of Alberta with lumber and ranching. In 1977, Dan moved to Coronach and for 25 years worked in maintenance at Sask. Power (Sask. Power Poplar River Mine). Following his retirement in 2004, Dan has resided at the Coronach & District Health Centre. Dan liked music, singing, watching TV and playing games with family and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Mary Spilchen and Sam Chornanky, his wife Freeda (Keller) in 1981, and brother-in-law Stanley Bebenek in 2000, Dan is survived by two sisters, Pauline (David) Bebenek of Norquay, SK and Helen Bebenek of Kamsack, SK, numerous nephews and nieces, as well as other family members. A Memorial Service will be held at Coronach at a later date. Interment to follow at the Danbury Community Cemetery, Danbury, SK. Arrangements entrusted to Ross Funeral Service, Assiniboia, SK.
