Ethel Bugera (nee Hubylit) was born on February 20, 1942, the daughter of Peter and Mary Hubylit, She grew up on the farm with her family in the Crestview area west of Swan River. Ethel attended Crestview School for grades one to eight and took her grade nine by correspondence. She completed her grade ten in Swan River where she room and boarded with a family. During that year she met a young fellow named Steve and on October 11, 1958, she married the love of her life Steve Bugera. Shortly after, Ethel and Steve moved to Saskatoon where Steve attended the University of Saskatchewan for the next two years. Ethel looked for employment and got a job working for a dry cleaners. In 1960, they moved to Kamsack where they raised their three lovely children, Sandy, Wayne and Cheryl. Once the children were school age, Ethel worked at the Victoria School as a kindergarten aide and was later hired at the Assiniboine School to work as a school secretary and in the library part-time. Ethel was very involved with their children's activities. She was involved with minor hockey as their secretary, helped with phoning committees and was a proud supporter in following her son, Wayne, to every hockey game. She was also actively involved with the Kamsack Figure Skating Club as a committee member and as spectator watching her two precious daughters skate. In the later years of living in Kamsack, Steve and Ethel enjoyed attending as many activities of their grandchildren. In 1998, Ethel and Steve moved to Yorkton to enjoy their retirement years, but two years later she suddenly lost her husband Steve to cancer. During their two short years together in Yorkton they made many friends and enjoyed many laughs over coffee at the mall or just in front of the duplex on a nice afternoon. Soon after Steve passed away, Ethel's kidneys failed and she unfortunately began dialysis, but this never stopped her from enjoying life when she could. She continued to attend various grandchildren's activities. She even got Terrier season passes and attended most of the Yorkton Terrier Hockey games with her friends and family. She also enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino and joining her friends for a coffee break. Over the years as her health deteriorated she wasn't willing to give up this part of her life and took to going places by hired drivers, the handi-van, and in her wheel chair. She never gave up hope, and was always determined to go and do things with friends and family. Ethel was predeceased by her husband Steve on November 5, 2000 , her father in 1994, her mother in 2007 and her daughter, Sandy (Kindiak) in 2008.
