Mr. Jim Bridgewater, beloved husband of Lucille of Yorkton passed away on Monday, September 1, 2014 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre with his wife by his side. He was 93 years of age. James Albert Bridgewater was born on November 5, 1920 at Bredenbury, SK; a son of James & Agnes (nee Grey) Bridgewater. Jim was raised at Bredenbury and after his school years here he joined with his father, working up north operating heavy equipment, building roads near Fort Nelson. In 1950 he was united in marriage to Agnes Pries. The couple settled in Yorkton where Jim opened a business on Betts Ave. repairing & selling radio & televisions. In 1987 Agnes passed away. In 1989 Jim met Lucille at a dance at the Legion and on August 3, 1990 they were married. The couple enjoyed travelling with friends, golfing and spending time at their cottage at Good Spirit Lake. Jim also enjoyed travelling to Manitoba to help on the farm of James & Eva Henderson. Although his health had been in steady decline in recent years, Jim still enjoyed going to the mall for a cup of coffee with his many friends. Besides his first wife Agnes, Jim was predeceased by his parents, James & Agnes; brothers Henry, Clarence & Raymond and his sister, Marge Vickers. He leaves to mourn his passing and to celebrate his life his wife Lucille; three sisters: Irene Nelson, Veryll Middleton & Audrey Bridgewater, his stepchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and his many other relatives and friends. The funeral service was held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Rev. Walter Farquharson of the United Church of Canada officiating. A tribute was given by James Henderson. Organist, Karen Delong led the congregation in the singing of the hymns 'For the Fruit of All Creation', 'Would You Bless Our Homes & Families' and 'Make Me A Channel of Your Peace'. The interment took place in the Garden of Gethsemane with Bev McLaren, James Henderson and Roger, Gilles, Gerald & Edgar Desrochers serving as the casketbearers. Memorials were to the Health Foundation.
