BREWER - Vera Willena Fair

Vera Willena Fair Brewer was born July 30, 1922 at home in the Fairville District in the R.M. of Dauphin to Will and Sara (McEwen) Fair. She was raised on the family farm and attended Fairville School. She attended Youth Training School in Dauphin in 1939. On December 16, 1941, she married George Russell Brewer of Ashville. They raised their family in Dauphin where George delivered milk by horse and cart for Cruise Dairy, then joined Canada Post as a postal clerk where he was employed until his death April 15, 1963. Vera was briefly married to Frank Nerbas. Then in 1969, she married Frank Miskolzi but they divorced in the 1990s. She worked in various custodial and food-related jobs in Yorkton, Langenburg, Grandview, Dauphin and Sarnia, ON. They retired to Dauphin in 1987 where she quickly became involved in many community groups including UCT, Legion, Horticultural group, Seniors Centre and in the high rise after her move there in 1992, to name a few. Vera passed away April 13, 2013 at Crocus Court Personal Care Home in Roblin in her 91st year, 2 days short of 50 years following George's passing. She was predeceased by husband George; daughters Diane and Janet in infancy; brothers Finlay, Thomas (Florence) and Hugh; sister Freda Cowden; brothers-in-law Gordon Richardson and Archie Kruhmin. She is survived by daughter Lorraine (Henry) Dozorec of Wroxton, SK; son Wayne (Georgie) Brewer of Powell River, BC; son Barry (Amy) Brewer of St. Augustine Beach, Florida; grandchildren Bryan (Val) Dozorec of Melville, SK, Dr. Deanna (Terry) Johnson of Hudson Bay, SK, Susan Dozorec of Wroxton, SK, Greg (Tammy) Dozorec of Regina, SK, Russell Brewer of Powell River, BC, Ghistaine (David) Wallach of Poplarfield, MB, Saravie Brewer of Vancouver, BC, Maralie (Martin) Plewak of Powell River, BC, Karen (Brandon) Perry of Tracy, California, Patrick of San Fransisco, California; 23 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters Marion Kruhmin and Amy Richardson of Dauphin; mother of Russell and Ghistaine - Marguerite Bourgeois (Scott) of Winnipeg; and many nieces and nephews. Vera was always a kind, considerate, thoughtful person to all. She was always ready to make you welcome and visit. Family was most important in her life. Memorial service will be held on Vera's birthday, Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Riverside Evergreen Chapel in Dauphin with Rev. Steve Wilson officiating.
