Marcel Bleau of Yorkton passed away suddenly on June 28, 2015. He was 51 years of age. Marcel Antoine Bleau was born January 17, 1964 in Denton, TX to his late parents Aurele & Linda Bleau (nee Smulan). The family resided there while Aurele studied music at the university. Marcel and his parents moved back to Saskatchewan where his sister Jackie was born. After a few moves the family finally settled on Linda's parents' tree nursery, Len's Lakeside Nursery, south of Yorkton. Siblings Lori, Crystal, Don & Rob were eventually born. Marcel attended school in Melville, SK and loved learning and studying the Encyclopedia Britannica until he was a wealth of information about just about every topic possible. Marcel's passion for music was ignited at an early age, taking after his dad. He played bass & guitar for many different bands in his life, with hard rock & heavy metal being his main "niche". You'd often find him out at Barn 22 in Grayson, either playing or enjoying the live music. On August 31, 1984 he married his sweetheart Coral Twardzik in Esterhazy, SK. They had 3 children, Aurielle, Monty & Chelsea. The family resided in Esterhazy & Regina, SK. A turn of events led to Coral's diagnosis of Schizophrenia and out of fear and stress, Marcel left for B.C. He spent about 13 years there, without much contact with loved ones back home, working in tire shops as a mechanic. He returned to Saskatchewan in 2006, contacted family and set up roots in Yorkton, working at Quality Tire. He also spent some time living in Regina and Winnipeg and then returned to Yorkton, where he lived until he passed away, working at Value Tire & Freedom Sound. He had most recently become Store Manager at Freedom Sound, which was a huge source of joy for him. He also had become a member of the band Kashmir Kitten. Marcel loved jamming with fellow musicians & friends. Marcel also had a love for nature, wolves, Starbucks coffee, cooking, World War II and all things Norwegian. He was very interested in Viking history & was planning a trip to Europe in 2016 to explore the land of his ancestors & connect with friends on Facebook from that area. Marcel was very proud of his children & grandson, Dallas and their many accomplishments & was trying very hard to make amends for the years he was absent from their lives. He took Monty & Chelsea to an Amon Amarth concert in Saskatoon in October where they had a great time. Marcel called his kids "lame" for not wanting to fight their way through the crowd to get to the front of the stage. Marcel had a very youthful spirit and Monty said he felt like an old man compared to his dad. He was a 15 year old in a 51 year old body :) Marcel passed away in the early hours of Sunday, June 28 of a massive heart attack, doing what he loved. He collapsed onstage during a concert playing with Kashmir Kitten at their premier concert in Springside, SK. He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter, Aurielle, her fiancé Kevin Kaufmann & their 4 year old son Dallas, son Monty & his fiancé Samantha Wunder and youngest daughter Chelsea. Siblings Jackie (Rodney) Clark, Lori (Randy) Trost, Crystal (Greg) Bjola, Don (Lee) Bleau, Rob (Samantha) Brock, Lee Read & many nieces & nephews and great friends. We will miss his strong presence on Facebook with his Good Morning Facebook greetings & late Good Nights. We will miss you. Xoxo. A Celebration of Life Service was held on Friday, July 3, 2015 at Prairie Harvest Christian Life Centre with Pastor Des Klingspon officiating. The hymn, "How Great Thou Art" was led by Cheryl Klingspon. The eulogy was read by Lori Trost and Crystal Bjola. Tributes were shared by Darwin Scrimbit, John Anaka and Greg Mikolas. The interment followed in the Dubuc Cemetery with Chelsea Bleau, Monty Bleau and Aurielle Bleau serving as the urn bearers. Memorials in memory of Marcel may be made to the Dubuc Cemetery Fund c/o Box 82, Dubuc, SK, S0A 2R0 or to Kim Coates Ride for Kids, 404 - 2125 11th Ave., Regina, SK, S4P 3X3.
