Margaret 'Maline' (Bligh) Bessel entered into a peaceful rest with God on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 11, 2014. Maline was born on a farm near Gerald, SK to Clarence and Stephanie Bligh on October 20, 1918. At age 21, she earned her teaching certificate in June 1939 and taught for almost 35 years in the Langenburg, MacNutt, Spy Hill, Esterhazy areas. She married Herbert Bessel in July 12, 1949 and enjoyed 60 years together before Herbert's passing in September 2009. She is lovingly remembered by her children James (Evelyn) and Larry (Jackie), her grandchildren Kristal (Paul), Kelsey (Conn), Michael (Jaime) and Chrissy (Brendan), and her 5 great grandchildren, Gabriella (parents Kristal and Paul), Sophia and Annalise (parents Kelsey and Conn), and Mikayla and Jordyn (parents Michael and Jaime). She was big sister to Gordon Bligh (deceased), Lyle Bligh and Adela (Bligh) Weiss. A memorial celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, June 7, 2pm, at St. Andrews United Church, Esterhazy, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
