Elsie Beisel was the youngest of three children, Born to Jacob & Caroline Baker, on August 10, 1926, In Winnipeg, MB. She was baptized at Holy Trinity Luthern Church and attended public school at Strathcona. Elsie was 9 years old when her family moved to their farm in the Rush Lake, Sk area. Elsie, her sister Emma and brother Jack attended school at Swan Lake, SK. On June 10, 1948, Elsie married Edwin Beisel whom she had known since school days. The couple were blessed with 3 sons. Don, David and Brian. Elsie and Ed lived in various towns & cities and farmed for a period of time in SK & MB, where Elsie worked as a cook in a nursing home. In 1973 Elsie and Ed moved to Qu'Appelle, SK where they spent the next 18 years operating a dairy farm and collecting exotic birds and animals. They also did Custom cutting and wrapping of meat and sausage making. Elsie and Ed retired to Yorkton in 1991. Elsie enjoyed many years of gardening, growing flowers and working in her yard. Elsie also had many opportunities to babysit her grandchildren Haley & Hanna which were some of her happiest times. Elsie passed away on Sept. 18, at the Yorkton Hospital. She was 87 years old. Elsie was predeceased by her parents, sister, brother and husband. She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory her three sons, Donald of Yorkton, David(Charlotte) of Medicine Hat, and Brian(Brenda) of Yorkton. Her grandchildren, Chrisie(Joey) Merriman, Yelena(Scott) Bergman, Haley Beisel and Hanna Beisel. Great grandchildren, Issac & Katie(Crisie Merriman) and many other relatives and friends. The family funeral service was held at St. Andrew's United Church with Reverend Jen Dresser. Music was "I Don't Regret A Mile" and "Rock of Ages". Psalm 23 and the Lord's Prayer. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society. Cremation was entrusted to Christie Hill Funeral Home, Yorkton, SK.
