Alvin and Jean Borchardt, Lloyd and Kathy Tochar, Cliff Rodman and Betty Rodman; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends at the Bentley Retirement Community, her home for the last 13 years. (In her trademark "take charge and handle things" way, Luella wrote her own obituary.) Funeral Services were held on Friday, August 15, 2014 from Zion Lutheran Church in Yorkton, SK with Pastor Daniel Moeller officiating. The organist, Verna Liebrecht, led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "What a Friend We Have In Jesus", "Let Us Ever Walk With Jesus", "Rock of Ages" and "Abide With Me". Following a reception in the church hall, the Interment Service took place in Christ Lutheran Parish Cemetery, near MacNutt, SK. Pastor Daniel Moeller officiated the Interment and Ralph Goodale, Rod Hass, Mark Malinowski, Lorrie Popp, Tim Kendel and Devin Richards served as the casket bearers. All of Luella's "family" at the Bentley Retirement Community were invited to serve as the honourary pallbearers. Friends so wishing may forward their condolences to the family by visiting www.christiesfuneralhome.com. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Christie's Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
