The Preeceville School garden that the elementary students helped to plant have grown to huge portions, exploding from the garden boxes that they were seeded in.

The Sturgis Station House Museum hosted their annual wind-up that was highlighted with bread baked from an outdoor oven on August 28. Patrons enjoyed a slice of bread followed by a smokie, salad and bean supper.

Sierra Meroniuk of Sturgis has focused her goals on realizing her dreams of continuing to play a higher calibre of hockey. The next big step for her will be playing with the AAA Weyburn Goldwings for the 2016-17 hockey season.

Esther Prystay of Preeceville has made a lifetime career out of her passion for growing flowers.

The Family Resource Centre was designed to help provide what the community needs. It has taken a long time to build up and has become very rewarding, said Karolyn Kosheluk.

The Whitehawk Arts Council will feature Lisa Brokop as the first concert in the set of three Stars for Saskatchewan series. Brokop is scheduled to take the stage in Preeceville on October 27.

The Sturgis Station House Museum held many events over the summer which was highlighted by the move of the Brookeview School onto the grounds two weeks ago.
