STURGIS - The Rural Municipality of Preeceville hosted the Rural Municipality of Administrator Association’s annual curling bonspiel that attracted seven teams from across the region. The spiel was held at the Sturgis Curling Rink on February 2. This would be the first bonspiel held at the rink for the new season of curling.
The Rural Municipality of Hazel Dell with team members, Brent Elmy, Dallas Chornomitz, Michael Rattary and Murray Sunderland went undefeated and won the bonspiel.
Other rural municipality rinks entered were the host rink, the RM of Preeceville, the RM of Touchwood, the RM of Foam Lake, the Rm of Kelvington, the RM of Ituna/Bon Accord and the RM of Star City.
“Each team played four ends then the finals were six ends with teams enjoying a catered lunch by CC’s Country Kitchen catering. It was a good day with everyone enjoying a fun day,” said Lisa Peterson, administrator.
