OUTLOOK - A new breakfast program is being launched at a local school to help young kids get a proper kickstart to their days of learning.

Outlook Elementary School is all set to launch their new breakfast program, which is being made possible by a donation from the Bargain Shop. The program is aiming to ensure that every student starts their day off with nutritious food, helping to set them up for success.

Still in its infancy, the program is looking to the public for a little help in getting started. OES is looking for donations of cereal, granola bars, pancake mix, yogurt, eggs, buns/bread, muffins, and fruit.

To help make the initiative fun and engaging for the student body, the school is organizing a friendly competition between grades, with the grade that brings in the most food per student winning a special prize.

OES will be collecting donations starting from this past Monday until Thursday, January 30. Items can be left with the front office or by sending them to school with kids.

With the new breakfast program, OES is following the research that has shown that eating a healthy breakfast can significantly improve a student's academic performance and motivation.
