OUTLOOK - The Prince Albert Raiders drafted 2006-born forward Cole Peardon with the 13th overall selection and 2006-born forward Ryder Ritchie with the 14th overall selection in the first round of the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft on Thursday morning.

Peardon, a product of Outlook, Sask., is a 6’0, 174-lb centreman for the Saskatoon Blazers U18 AAA of the Saskatchewan U18 AAA Hockey League. This season with the Blazers, he has four goals and 12 assists in 18 games played. He also added three goals and three assists in five games at the 2021 WHL Cup for Team Saskatchewan.

“We’re very excited. He’s a big, strong power forward and plays a 200-foot game,” said Raiders Director of Player Personnel Bruno Zarrillo on the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft online broadcast. “He fits right in [with] the kind of team we want to build here and make a regroup for the future and try to win more championships.”

In the abbreviated 2020-21 season, Peardon had five goals and five assists in four games for the Saskatoon Bandits U15 club.

“Character number one, work ethic, and a commitment to the team and our program,” Zarrillo said of both players. “We feel these guys check all the boxes and we’re very excited to have these guys.”
