OUTLOOK - The start of a new school year in the province also means the start of school sports getting quickly underway.

This includes football, and in the community of Outlook, this season will see players from both Outlook High School and LCBI High School hit the field.

Jeff Kitts, an assistant executive director for the Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association (SHSAA), explained that while players from Outlook High School will in fact be strapping on helmets and taking to the field, it won't be at OHS itself. Rather, Outlook has joined forces with Delisle Composite High School to offer interested football players from the riverside community a chance to play the game for the Delisle Rebels team.

Competing in the 4A nine-a-side group in Conference 4, the Delisle Rebels actually kick off their season today, with a game this afternoon against the squad from the John Paul II School in North Battleford. From there, the Rebels host their home opener on Friday, September 13 against Kindersley before the North Battleford players return to Delisle for a return game on Friday, September 27. Finally, the Rebels host the team from Humboldt on Friday, October 4 before venturing to Kindersley to play on Friday, October 11.

Over at LCBI, the hometown Bisons are gearing up for another season on the field, playing in the 1A six-a-side group in Conference 1 and joining teams from Hafford, Kerrobert, Plenty, and Macklin.

The Bisons start their season on Friday, September 13 with a game in Macklin before another road game in Kerrobert on Friday, September 20. The team has their first home game in Outlook on Friday, September 27 when they host Hafford, followed up with another home game on Friday, October 4 against Plenty.
