(EDITOR’S NOTE: The following letter by Amanda Burback is a follow-up to the front-page story in the Kamsack Timespublished two weeks ago regarding how Kamsack residents were upset that the minister of education had planned to spend Kamsack school tax money on the Langenburg school and was circulating a petition in protest.)
Hello all:
I had a very productive and positive meeting with Mr. Ken Krawetz today (November 6), and our petition definitely was seen and heard. The Ministry has assured Mr. Krawetz that our money is being returned to us, and a letter is being written and will be en route ASAP.
Mr. Krawetz asked that we continue with the petition until that letter is received by the board chair, Mrs. Lois Smandych. We are (then) to ask the newspaper to publish the resolution that is outlined in the letter.
Mr. Krawetz would like the petition to stay in place, in order to show the Ministry what can happen with decisions such as this, and to show our passion and community awareness that we have here. Aliki (Tryphonopoulos) and I will collect them and put them together for Mr. Krawetz to deliver in person to the Ministry.
Way to go group! Fantastic job! All I can think to end with is: Booya!
