On March 1-2, three members of the Yorkton Regional High School wrestling team travelled to Moose Jaw to take part in the SHSAA Wrestling Regionals at A.E. Peacock Collegiate.
Dayton Pierrepont (53 kg), Noah Misener (82 kg), and Clark Hoffman (110 kg) all placed fourth in their respective wrestling categories. As top-four finalists, they all advanced to the 2013 Wrestling Provincials, which took place the following weekend at the University of Regina.
However, Hoffman and Pierrepont came down with the flu, so Misener was the only YRHS wrestler to travel to the Queen City.
Misener took on MacKenzie Hawkins of LeBoldus in his first match. Unfortunately, he suffered an eye injury in the contest and needed medical attention, going on to lose by pin. He went on to finish 10th overall in his weight category.
