YORKTON - It was not a particularly memorable trip north for the Yorkton Terriers.

The Terriers were in Nipawin playing a solid first period. They gave up a goal by Alex Johnson at 17:54, but with only one tick left on the clock Maddux Nollski tied the game through 20-minutes.

In the second period Braxton Buckberger gave the Hawks their second lead of the game at 2:20, but again the Terriers responded quickly, Cade Kennedy scoring at 5:47.

But, from there the game turned solidly in favour of the home side.

Eric Robbie gave the Hawks their third lead of the contest at 14:59, but this time Yorkton did not respond. Instead Buckberger scored his second of the night at 18:20 giving the Hawks a 4-2 lead through 40-minutes of play.

There would be only one goal scored in the third period, Francois-Xavier Bedard scoring at 14:05 to salt away a 5-2 win for the Hawks.

Tysen Smith faced a deluge of rubber – 50-shots – in net for the Terriers, while the Terriers managed 28-shots at winning netminder Jackson Fellner.

The loss leaves the Terriers with a season record of 14-25-0-1 and 29 points for third place in the SJHL Viterra Division. Estevan leads the pack with 49 points, with Weyburn second with 35, six better than the Terriers. Melville resides in the division basement with 26 points, only three points back of Yorkton, and holding a game in-hand.
