The Yorkton Terriers are celebrating their 40th anniversary in Junior Hockey. Over the course of the season Yorkton This Week will be providing vignettes looking at the proud heritage of the team through the eyes of those who have stood behind the bench in the past four decades as head coaches of the Terriers. Coached in Yorkton for two seasons (2000 - 2002).
Who was the best Terrier you coached? Why?
Former Terrier, Joel Danyluk (Goal), as he helped lead us (Augustana in Alberta) to an ACAC Gold Medal Championship in 2011-2012.
Did you coach after Yorkton? Where?
I've continued coaching since leaving Yorkton; 2003-2004 - Minnistikwin Islanders - Sask Senior AAA Provincial Champions and Allan Cup National Finalists (St. Georges, Quebec), 2004-2005 - Midwest Islanders - Sask Senior AAA Provincial Champions (Allan Cup in Lloydminster) and Team Canada Reps at 2005 Nagano Cup in Nagano, Japan, 2006-2007 - Drayton Valley Thunder (AJHL), 2007-2008 - Lloydminster Border Kings - Sask Senior AAA Provincial Champions (Allan Cup in Brantford, Ontario).
