The Yorkton Yankees and the Yorkton Orioles' seasons are underway in the Saskatchewan East Senior Baseball League.
The Yankees are undefeated with three wins on the year. They blew the Langenburg Indians out of the water 17-0, topped the Melville Bison 15-7, and knocked off the Parkland Padres 10-0.
The Orioles are 0-2 after falling 5-1 to the Swan Valley Reds and 7-3 to the Canora Supers.
"I thought both of our games were played well," said Chris Wyatt, the Orioles' manager. "We did need more runs, though. That's is something we need to work on."
For a 35-and-older team, Wyatt believes the Orioles have a strong core of players.
"I think we look good out there," he said. "We did lose three guys from last year, but we had four or five more join the team. This season should be a good year to help us prepare for trying to capture back-to-back provincial titles this year."
The Yankees' next game is on Wednesday, June 5 against the Bison in Melville. They played Langenburg on the road on Tuesday, but the results were not available for press time.
The Orioles' next match, meanwhile, is in Melville against the Bison on Sunday, June 9.
