The Yorkton United U10 Boys captured silver medals at the Regina Soccer Association Youth Soccer Tournament January 11 to 13.
The action started Friday night against Regina's REU Force with Yorkton coming out on top with a score of 4-0.
Yorkton made it two in a row in their second contest against the UCT Avengers, taking a commanding 4-0 win.
Yorkton's first loss came in their third match against Queen City Green, losing 3-1.
On the second day of the tournament, the Yorkton boys won a very tight match in the semi-final game against Moose Jaw, taking it 1-0 in double sudden-death overtime. This victory advanced them to the Sunday afternoon final.
In the final game against the Queen City Black, Yorkton battled hard, but came up short in a 3-2 loss.
Despite failing to capture the win in their final game, Yorkton Coaches Mike Jacubiec and Benno Looft were both very pleased with the effort the boys put forward in the tournament.
Yorkton United U10 Boys are now preparing to field two teams to join the Regina Soccer Association's last indoor tourney of the year, which is called Winterfest. It takes place next weekend from January 25-27.
