Roughly a year after he hoisted the Stanley Cup over his head in Yorkton, Los Angeles Kings centre Jarret Stoll suffered a seizure in his Hermosa Beach home on Wednesday, July 3.
The cause of the seizure is currently unknown.
Kings general manager Dean Lombardi told the Times that he visited Stoll in the hospital and that "Everything is okay. Bottom line is that he's fine. Now the issue is what caused it."
A day after suffering the seizure, Stoll tweeted, "Thank you for all the nice, thoughtful messages...really appreciate the support..for u in the US enjoy your 4th!"
Stoll, 31, missed three games in the 2013 playoffs after suffering a concussion against the San Jose Sharks. The Melville native also went through concussion-like symptoms in 2006-07 while playing for the Edmonton Oilers. It is, however, unknown whether his head injuries are connected to the seizure.
The 6-foot-1, 213-pound Stoll is coming off an 18-point season in 48 games for the Kings. It was the first year in his three-year contract that pays him $3.25 million a season.
Yortkton This Week's thoughts and prayers are with Stoll and his loved ones during this time.
