After falling to Kamsack on Friday, the Yorkton Regional High School senior lady Raiders basketball team ended their four-team round-robin tournament with two wins.
"After our slow start, we started playing much better," said Raiders head coach Tony Hayden. "We started to shoot the ball a lot better today (Saturday)."
The head coach went on to note that shooting was the problem in the 54-35 Kamsack loss.
"We were 12-66 for shooting," he said. "They made their shots and we didn't. So it's simple as that."
In their first match on Saturday, the Raiders topped Tisdale 64-17, followed by a 54-14 victory over Moosomin.
"We didn't let them score too many points and our offense did its job," said Hayden. "It was nice to end the tournament with two wins."
The Raiders go to Melville next week for conferences.
Hayden doesn't want his club to look too far ahead, just focusing on one game at a time.
"Our goal is to win the first game," he said. "If we win the first game we advance to regionals, so we are just focusing on one game."
