On March 16-17, Yorkton sent three bowlers to compete in the third and fourth Masters tournaments of the year in Prince Albert.
All three bowlers went into the tournament with experience. Trish Davis and Cam Louttit competed in their first Masters tournament back in November in Regina and Jenn Kostiuk had two Masters' showings under her belt.
Davis and Louttit finished strong in PA, but came up short in their respective categories.
The tournament was a comeback for Kostiuk. She missed almost a year and a half of bowling because of a knee injury and an ACL reconstruction.
In her return, Kostiuk didn't disappoint, edging eight opponents to clinch her first Masters Provincials Singles Title.
The victory advances Kostiuk to compete for the title of the Masters National Champion in Calgary, Alta., on June 30 to July 3.
The Yorkton Regional High School is hosting a zumbathon on Tuesday, April 17 from 6-8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at YRHS, Melrose Place, and at the door. Students: $5. Adults: $10. All prooceds raised at the event go to breast cancer research.
