The Yorkton PeeWee AA Terriers are headed to Prince Albert on Saturday for the championship game of their provincial final. In best-of-two total-point series, the Terriers are up 1-0 after beating Prince Albert 10-4 in the Gallagher Centre on March 16.


Students from Yorkton Regional High School and Sacred Heart High School are taking part in the 27th annual Student-Teacher Benefit Hockey Game on March 27 at 7:30 in the Farrell Agencies Arena. Tickets can be purchased at the door for only $2. The beneficiaries of the game are Brendan Campbell McFadden, who has been diagnosed with rapidly progressing muscular dystrophy, and Tiffany McLennan, who was born with spina bifida and hydrocephalus.


Cathy Inglis along with her rink Pat Kuspira, Donna Liebrecht and Bev Fuches will represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian Senior Championship in Summerside, PEI, on March 16-24. They advanced to the event after capturing their first Provincial Senior Women's Championship on Feb. 24 in Martensville.


Yorkton Regional High School is hosting their first ever chess tournament on March 30 at 9 a.m. Students through kindergarten to grade 12 can sign up for the tournament by Friday, March 29. For more information contact Narom Sing at [email protected] or 306-782-4338 in the evening.
