The Yorkton Bulldogs will be travelling to Saskatoon for Prairie Gold Lacrosse League playoff action July 13-15. The Bulldogs expect to play either the Rifles or the Riot in the opening round, says coach Joe Choptuik.

The Yorkton Cardinals of the Western Major Baseball League were in for one of their biggest tests of the season last night when the Red Sox were scheduled to play in Yorkton for a doubleheader. Yorkton is coming off a long weekend that saw them drop four straight games to the Melville Millionaires.The Cardinals' record going into the Red Sox games was at 7-17 and have had one player decide to leave the team.
Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT) players were treated to two beautiful days in Warman, SK, on June 29 and 30, during the MJT Saskatchewan Series at The Legends Golf Club - a great practice opportunity for the Provincial Junior Championships. Kade Johnson of Yorkton, SK, took home the MJT Boys 13 and Under gold medal after firing rounds of 74-74.
The top 9-man high school football players in the province will be getting together to play against the top 9-man players from North Dakota in what is known as the Saskota Bowl. Players attempted to earn a roster spot on Team Saskatchewan during tryout camps. Preston Liebrecht and Robert Okeny were both selected to make the team. The Saskota Bowl was initiated in 2004 by coaches Bill Ruetz from Saskatchewan and Davey Zinke from North Dakota. The original format of the game was to alternate the host city/town each year between Saskatchewan and North Dakota. Saskatchewan opted to move the host school around the province, while North Dakota has decided to host each year in Rolla, ND.
